Grading Policy for Mrs Cline's Third Grade

Students will be involved in a variety of daily learning activities within their grade and ability level. Work that is completed in class will be sent home weekly in homework folders. Please take a moment to review all your child's work. A star, check, sticker or stamp on the paper indicates that I have reviewed it. If I make any correction marks on the paper please encourage your child to review those skills. Tests and project papers will be given letter grades. Any work receiving a grade of D or F ( 60 % or less) will need to be signed by a parent and returned to me.

Reading Grade Weights:
Vocabulary 25%
Comprehension 45% includes AR, book reports ect.
Theme Skills (reading) 30%

Written and Oral Language Grade Weights:
Spelling Quizzes 15%
Grammar Skills 35%
Writing 20 %
Theme Skills (skills) 30%

Math Grade Weights:
Computation 10%
Class Work - Quick Checks 25%
Daily Math 25%
Chapter Tests 40%

Effort Grades:
(O) Outstanding - Consistently meets objectives
(G) Good - Frequently meets objectives
(S) Satisfactory  - Generally meets objectives
(N) Needs Improvement   -  Occasionally meets objectives
(U) Unsatisfactory   -  Rarely meets objectives
